The Grammy Awards have for several years recognised the rapidly
emerging field of surround sound music recording, and also the
extraordinary creativity required to construct these three dimensional
recordings.
At this month’s 51st Grammy Awards presentation, the Grammy Award for
Best Surround Sound Album went to the team that produced the Telarc
Super Audio CD (SA-CD) release Mussorgsky: Pictures At An Exhibition;
Night On Bald Mountain; Prelude To Khovanshchina; Michael Bishop,
Engineer and Robert Woods, Producer.
Telarc has been through a major re-organisation recently, which has
seen the entire Telarc Production Department leaving the company and
establishing a new independent audio production company - Five/Four
Productions, Ltd.
