'Magic,' Bruce Springsteen's new studio recording and his first with the E
Street Band in five years, is set for release by Columbia Records on October
2, 2007. Produced and mixed by Brendan O'Brien, the album features eleven
new Springsteen songs and was recorded at Southern Tracks Recording Studio
in Atlanta, GA.

6. Girls in Their Summer Clothes
7. I'll Work for Your Love
8. Magic

'Magic' is the first new studio album by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street
Band since 2002's GRAMMY Award-winning, multi-platinum, number one album
'The Rising' (Columbia Records), which was also produced by O'Brien.
Bruce Springsteen's longtime manager Jon Landau said, "'Magic' is a high
energy rock CD. It's light on its feet, incredibly well played by Bruce and
the members of the E Street Band, and, as always, has plenty to say. It's
also immensely entertaining. 'Magic' is the third collaboration between
Bruce and Brendan O'Brien and is a culmination of their very productive
creative relationship."

Quella a sinistra sembra essere la foto ufficiale... non so se sarà la
copertina dell'album... ad ogni modo, questo è un ingrandimento:

Have no fear.
I have the scoop on the themes and inspirations for all of Magic's 11
tracks.
1. "Radio Nowhere"
- Alludes to what fans will discover upon entering their vehicle after
a show at Newark's Prudential Center.
2. "You'll Be Comin' Down"
- Bruce inhabits the character of Asbury Park's planning commissioner,
speaking aloud, as he discovers that an antiquated, scarcely attended
rock club is taking up a prime block of beachfront real estate.
3. "Livin' in the Future"
- A tale which finds a wrinkled singer - once surrounded by friends
in his band, paparazzi on the street, and an interested public on the
other side of the radio - feeling strange as he suddenly finds himself
in a 3,000 seat amphitheater, banjo around his neck, surrounded by
jamboree musicians he doesn't know.
Alarmed, the singer sheepishly leans into the mic and asks the
audience, "Do you recognize any of these people up here?", and the
audience, in unison, replies, "No. We don't."
As the title suggests, this song is set in future...approximately
2010.
4. "Your Own Worst Enemy"
- An ode to St Louis Cardinals pitcher Rick Ankiel
5. "Gypsy Biker"
- "This is a song Jon Bon Jovi wrote with me", Bruce explains, "It
has the same melody and words as 'Gypsy Road' by Cinderella, but Jon
suggested that we do something original. So we changed the word 'Road'
to 'Biker' and then add an "oh yeah" to the chorus."
6. "Girls in Their Summer Clothes"
- A lustful yarn about two gals, scantily dressed, walking the Jersey
boardwalk. The women, named Patti and Suzie, turn heads everywhere
they go. There isn't a man within shouting distance that doesn't long
to be with them. They strut pass a newspaper machine. The headline
reads: Nixon Resigns.
7. "I'll Work for Your Love"
- The tale of a lifelong musician, armed with a degree in music from
the University of Miami, who decides to put down her Joni Mitchell
aspirations so she could work in her husband's band and earn his love.
In a happy twist, her urgent tambourine and transcendent acoustic
guitar work on such delicate numbers as Streets of Fire, Adam Raised a
Cain and Backstreets, becomes legendary.
8. "Magic"
- In keeping with his lifelong theme of compassion for those that slip
through society's cracks, Bruce reminds us not to forget about
athletes with HIV, just because their talk shows were cancelled and
they don't open up movie theaters in your neighborhood.
9. "Last to Die"
- Bruce inhabiting the mind of Pete Best, pondering his legacy, after
Ringo and Paul meet their end on an ocean liner high jacked by German
fans of Oasis.
10. "Long Walk Home"
- A downcast, reflective number Bruce wrote when, coming home from the
store one evening, his Range Rover stalled at the bottom of his
driveway.
11. "Devil's Arcade"
- Will probably be interpreted as an anti-war song, referring to Iraq.
Real inspiration came from a charity fundraiser, where Bruce spotted a
vintage Asteroids machine at host Martin Brodeur's house.
> 8. "Magic"
> athletes with HIV
quindi Magic, e' Earvin "Magic" Johnson?
Rob
