Se ti accontenti della mia pessima traduzione...
Si parla di "codice" (stile) di abbigliamento "Professionale/Casual o
Sportivo" e "Professionale/Elegante"
"dress code" perché è come un "codice" o stile che comunica
l'appartenenza a una categoria o a un ufficio. A volte c'è un vero e
proprio obbligo, un tipo di abbigliamento al quale è necessario
adeguarsi. In un ufficio, potrebbe essere lo stile
imposto/suggerito/ammesso dall'azienda o dall'esempio dei dirigenti.

"Business casual", a quanto ho capito, è chi veste un abito adeguato
all'ufficio o a uno studio professionale o a un incontro d'affari o
comunque da persona in carriera, ma senza la rigidità del completo
tradizionale, per esempio mettendo una polo al posto della classica
camicia, o indossando una giacca sportiva anziché una più formale.

In certi contesti, dove l'abbigliamento è previsto da precise regole o
da un cerimoniale, si potrebbe anche tradurre anche come "etichetta".
Per esempio: l'etichetta di Montecitorio impone che i parlamentari
uomini vestano in giacca e cravatta...
Però "dress code" lo vedo usato in un significato molto più ampio,
anche per dire ciò che imposto, suggerito o concesso in base a regole
non dette, ma piuttosto in base all'esempio o a prassi sociali o
aziendali.
Riprendendo l'esempio che citavo nell'altro post,

non credo che alla Microsoft ci sia un cartello con su scritto:
