Non so, per me sono molto distinti. Nell'accento tradizionale della
regione di Londra la /θ/ non esiste proprio ed è sostituita con /f/ (e
il "th" sonoro con /v/), e la cosa "salta all'orecchio" immediatamente.
Ovviamente poi, in una parola isolata, pronunciata velocemente, può
essere difficile identificare il suono, ma questo vale per praticamente
qualsiasi coppia di suoni comunque simili.
