If I say, let's meet this evening, what range of time am I implying?

Thanks.

I know you say "Buona sera" in Rome after about 1:30.

As Joe says, I'd say evening started at about 6pm. As for when it
ends,
well I'm not sure but his 9pm sounds ok to me.

That's reasonable. I told this guy who I should be working on a course
project with that I wanted to meet up this evening/night, and he sent
me a message suggesting we meet at 5-ish. Of course, my reply was:"can
we do 6pm?".

Ciao,

P.S. Aha! So you people have dinner in the afternoon! :-D

And people don't even say "good morning/afternoon/evening" to me when I
enter a shop! That's rude.
:-)

Ciao,

I don't. :)
My "sera" starts after the sun goes down.
