This freeware zipped collection containing fonts made by variuos
authors includes True Type Fonts: Aramaic, Hebrew, Phoenician,
Mycenaean, Greek, Italic, Latin, Glagolithic, OCS Cyrillic, Germanic
Runic and several others, some of them in few variants, including some
rare characters unavailable in modern Greek, Latin, Hebrew and Cyrillic
alphabets as represented on Microsoft's core TTF's (Like Arial, Verdana
,Tahoma etc.), with the emphasis made during the selection on
ancient mediterranean and near - eastern letters.

It may be of interest to students and professionals dealing with
paleography, linguistics, classical and medieval Slavic history. The
file
is about 7 Mb, and contains about 130 fonts.

I would most welcome an offer of TTF fonts containing writing-systems
of
ancient cultures in Asia Minor as well as various variants of ancient
alphabets used in Mycenae and rest of the Hellenic world, which are
pretty obscure to find as freeware fonts.

The file (c.7 mb) may be found at:

The following bundle of ancient scripts in the form of TTF fonts is a
result of a long-time critical compilation, but the credit in its
entirety belongs to their authors. All fonts are freeware for academic,
personal use and other fair, non-commercial use.

The compilation contains several scripts of the ancient peoples that
gravitated around Mediterranean and further to the east of it, but also
several Northern European as well as many Slavic medieval fonts are
included.

This collection is of interest to students and scholars in academic
fields such as history, anthropology, linguistics, paleography,
archaeology and classical and near-eastern philology. It represents a
necessary auxiliary basis for proffessional publications in the areas
of aforementioned fields of study.

These TTF scripts are embedded in the *zip file, some of them in
several linguistic and graphical variants.

Also some modern characters sets are to be found at some of these
fonts. Microsoft's commercial "Arial Unicode MS" True Type Font (not
included) covers most of modern languages as well as plenty of symbols,
but has an almost zero potential for paleographic publishing.

You are free to contact me for any technical issues, including
installation of TTF fonts on Windows and Linux, and their handling with
popular word-processors (MS Word, Open Office).

Regards,
Vasil
