Moderated newsgroup test

Please forgive this interruption.

I maintain two of the Usenet moderated newsgroup email relay servers,
i.e., the servers that email messages posted to moderated newsgroups
are routed through to reach the appropriate moderators.

The list of moderated newsgroups contains a large number of newsgroups
which are defunct, i.e., the moderation addresses associated with them
no longer work. We remove such entries from the list as they are
discovered, but unfortunately they are discovered in dribs and drabs,
one or two at a time, which makes for a lot of extra working having to
go into the list and update it over and over again.

I am therefore attempting to accelerate the process of discovering the
defunct newsgroups by sending out test messages like this one to all
of the groups which have not recently been successfully routed through
the servers I maintain.

If you've received this message, then congratulations, your newsgroup
is still working. Please delete this message -- don't post it to the
newsgroup! -- and carry on as before.
