Hyper-V e "Mouse input not captured"

to

ho scaricato il setup di XP mode, ho estratto i file e da questi ho
estratto il VHD

poi ho creato una macchina virtuale con il suddetto VHD: è partita, XP si è
installato, funziona praticamente tutto tranne il mouse

cercando ho scoperto, guarda un po', che il problema è stra-noto e tra le
mille "soluzioni" quella più gettonata è di rimuovere "Virtual PC
Integration Components"... ma ovviamente non ha funzionato

altre idee?

If you’re playing around with older OSes in the latest versions of Hyper-V,
you’re missing one thing, the Integration Components (IC).

With Win10/Server2016 they no longer include this ISO as the current
“supported” OSes all get their IC viaWindows Update.

You can get the IC from Hyper-V 2012/2012R2 Server, a free download, here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-hyper-v-server-2012-r2
( to extract, you’ll need to mount the ISO, open the x:\sources\install.wim
file with something like 7zip, browse to Windows\system32, and extract the
vmguest.iso or install Hyper-V Server in a VM to get the vmguest.iso)

aggiungo anche questo, che ogni tanto serve in quanto i VHD dinamici
tendono a ingrassare oltremodo:

Problem solved! I've discovered that there is a button to compact Win XP
Mode Virtual Hard Disk in Windows Virtual PC. I just pressed it and quarter
of an hour later the job was done and the vhd file was down to a mere 11Gb,
a little larger than the sum total of the files in it.

Questo mi piace assai. Sono sempre stato affascinato dalla "nested
virtualization", non so il perché visto che non mi è mai servita.

Sarò malato di virtualizzazione :-D

A proposito di guest driver, hanno risolto il problema della risoluzione sui
driver per Linux? Che l'ultima volta dovevi passare la risoluzione a mano
all'avvio del guest
