Problema disconnessione rete durante sospensione sistema

Netbook ASUS 1015PEM Linux mandriva 2010.2 kernel 2.6.33.7-netbook

Ho già cercato in vari forum e su google ma non ho trovato nulla
(almeno per ora) che potesse aiutarmi: quando il sistema va in
sospensione la rete si disconnette (per poi riconnettersi dopo la
ripresa) anche se vi è attività che ovviamente si interrompe, in
questo modo NON è possibile mettere a scaricare nulla che superi il
tempo entro il quale il sistema si sospende (per esempio il download
delle iso mandriva tramite wget o browser è impossibile); quindi non è
che voglia disabilitare la sospensione durante l' inattività ma solo
evitare che mi si disconnetta la rete se c'e' attività o in
alternativa che si inibisca il sistema da andare in sospensione finchè
c'è attività di rete.

ho trovato qualcosa e ho provato queste soluzioni ma senza risultati.

comando:
ethtool -s eth0 wol p

seguito da:
ETHTOOL_OPTIONS='wol p'
in /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0

Inserimento tra i parametri del kernel:
eeepc_laptop.hotplug_disabled=1

Modifica del file:
/etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/ethernet.conf

Niente di quanto sopra ha avuto effetto, dopo un certo tempo il
sistema va in sospensione troncando ogni attività di rete.

Bene... siccome nel frattempo non sono rimasto con le mani in mano...
mi rispondo da solo: sono riuscito a trovare questa applicazioncina

che anche se non risponde esattamente alla mia richiesta (perchè ci
sono situazioni in cui ho necessità che dei servizi rimangano in
ascolto per lungo tempo permettendo la sospensione ma permettendo
anche la ripresa e mantenendo il collegamento in rete) è comunque un
buon compromesso perchè sostanzialmente almeno mi risolve il problema
nella maggioranza dei casi; per chi ha fretta esiste anche la versione
RPM che sebbene confezionata per PCLinuxOS funziona perfettamente
anche su Mandriva:
