Please HELP - Problem with 7208-234

Hi,

I am using a IBM External 8mm Tape Drive Model 234 attached to a Model
500 running V3R7 via Removable Media Device Attachment (#2621).

The problem occurs when using the Drive for about 3 times after the last
IPL. The first Drive will stall and the Operator Message will prompt a
Media Error/Device Failure. There is however, no error whosoever, when
using the second Drive. I have tried changing the entire unit, changing
all my cartridges to new ones and even the #2621 but nothing seems to
help. The only way I can use both drives is to reboot the system after 2
- 3 days.
