Hi,

Anybody had any experience with OpenOffice/StarOffice suites? I am trying to
do an evaluation comparison between MS and OpenOffice/StarOffice for my
company and I'm having trouble trying to print an envolope. Straight forward
on MS but my OpenOffice attempts keep printing out on A4 rather than
envelope. I manually feed envelope and change settings from portrait to
landscape and it still prints as if on A4.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Alternatively, if anybody has already
done a similar comparison I would be very interested in contacting you.

Regards,

Mark.

I am used to use soffice52 to print env. out (I also tried with
Openoffice1.0). It is a disadvantage of soffice. I ve done as follow:
open File | new | From Template | Personal Correspondence & Documents |
Envelop
afterward, format it by open Format | page
depend on your env. types you select env. dimenssion. eg: I choose DL
110x220.
Then I have to change Top and Height, each is gained up 3.00 cm
Top 1.50cm => 4.50cm
Height 11cm => 14cm.
So I can print my env. out correctly
===========
On the other hand, a better way to print env. out is to configure
printer for env. paper type.
If you r using staroffice as a /net, run
#spadmin at root, and fix the paper for printing.
dis-adv: you should revert to A4 when be back to print A4.doc
Hopefully this is useful for you
cheers

Hi-

There is a print control program usually located in the
$HOME/openoffice.org directory called spadmin which deals with print
sizes, fonts, paper trays, etc. This program is run separately from the
soffice executable.

Take a look there.
