how do i save a visual basics program in a run format instead of edit
format. like a .exe instead of a .vb

I thnk you must compile.
File -> Make <projectname>.exe

i know that i'm not that stupid, but but wereis tha compile button
found or is there some trick to compiling

So, I suppose you want to customize your toolbox to add the compile button
right?
View -> Toolbar -> Customize
you have all menus, drag all you need into an existing toolbar, or you can
create your cusomized toolbar.
