How to Fix Rows and Columns in a StringGrid Without using FixedRows | FixedCols

Hi everybody.
I Have a problem.
I've customized a StringGrid using D5 Ent. and everything works fine.
But now I want to be able to fix a row and/or a column so that when I
scroll the Grid they remain visible.
I know that I can use the FixedRows Propriety, but if I do so Delphi draws
those
horrible Lines around the cells to make them look like buttons, and my
customizations
(All in the DrawCells Event) go to hell.
Is there another way to fix rows and cols or a way to stop those drawings in
the Fixed
ones ??
