The Action:
At 12:25 Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat was launched by Falmouth
Coastguard after the French Yacht 'Florilege' put out a Mayday
reporting that she was aground in the Helford River. The Inshore
Lifeboat and Falmouth Coastguard Mobile were also tasked to assist, as
well as a number of local boats, which responded to the Mayday.

At 12:34 the Inshore Lifeboat arrived alongside the 38ft yacht which
was aground at Porth Saxon, ½ mile South of Durgan. The Inshore
Lifeboat placed two crewmen onboard the yacht and with the assistance
of the Dive Boat 'Seaquest' and another Rigid Inflatable they held the
yacht clear until the Offshore Lifeboat arrived at 12:47. A towline
was passed to the yacht and once secure the yachts anchors were then
cut. By 12:55 the Offshore Lifeboat had towed the yacht into deeper
water, where she was prepared for the tow back to Falmouth. The yacht
was safely berthed in Falmouth at Port Pendennis Marina by 13:55.

The Offshore Lifeboat was back at its berth by 14:05, where it was
refuelled and ready for service by 14:15.
