ServiceNow Developer

Role Summary

The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and supporting ServiceNow platform capabilities with a strong focus on Azure cloud integrations. This role delivers scalable, secure, and automation-driven solutions across ITSM, Service Catalog, custom applications, and cloud monitoring by integrating ServiceNow with Microsoft Azure services.

Key Responsibilities – ServiceNow Development

• Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications including ITSM, Service Catalog, workflows, Flow Designer, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and notifications
• Build and maintain custom scoped applications using the ServiceNow App Engine
• Develop and enhance Service Catalog items, request workflows, approvals, and fulfillment processes
• Perform unit testing, support UAT, and assist with production deployments
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects, performance issues, and configuration gaps
• Ensure adherence to ServiceNow best practices, coding standards, security, and governance
• Maintain technical documentation for configurations, integrations, and customizations
• Support platform upgrades, patching, and release impact analysis

Key Responsibilities – Azure Integration

• Design, develop, and support integrations between ServiceNow and Microsoft Azure using REST APIs, Webhooks, and IntegrationHub.
• Integrate Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Alerts with ServiceNow ITOM / Event Management
• Configure MID Server-based secure connectivity where required
• Integrate Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) for user, group, and role-based access workflows
• Develop automation workflows for Azure resource lifecycle management (intake, provisioning, change, decommission)
• Support cloud governance workflows across Azure subscriptions, resource groups, RBAC, and policies
• Troubleshoot Azure integration failures and ensure secure authentication and authorization

• Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, Client Scripts
• Flow Designer and Workflow Editor
• Service Catalog and Request Fulfillment
• Custom scoped application development
• ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Request)

Azure & Integration:
• REST APIs, JSON, Webhooks
• Azure Monitor, Alerts, Log Analytics
• ServiceNow ITOM / Event Management
• MID Server architecture
• Azure AD (Entra ID), RBAC, subscription hierarchy

Preferred Certifications

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work across cloud, security, and operations teams
• Clear communication and documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in enterprise environments
