Role: SAP Data Migration

Location – Remote with Travel to CA

Duration 6+ Months

 

ETL Developer specializing in Logistics and Inventory Management designs data pipelines to extract, cleanse, and transform legacy supply chain data. They ensure accurate migration of critical objects like Material Masters, BOMs, and stock levels into SAP S/4HANA or ECC using tools like BODS, LSMW, or Migration Cockpit.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

·        Data Extraction: Connect to legacy systems (e.g., Oracle, legacy ERPs) and set up scheduled ETL jobs for routine extraction of source data.

·        Data Profiling & Cleansing: Analyze source data quality, handling tasks like standardizing units of measure (UoM), identifying missing data, and resolving duplicate material numbers.

·        Transformation & Mapping: Collaborate with SAP MM/IM Functional Consultants to translate business rules and field-level mappings into the target SAP data model (e.g., Material Master MATMAS or Business Partner BUPA).

·        Data Loading: Load both master and transactional data into SAP utilizing native tools like the SAP S/4HANA Migration CockpitBAPIs, or IDocs

·        Reconciliation & Testing: Execute mock loads and cutover simulations, generating pre/post-load validation reports to ensure inventory and financial reconciliation.

 

Technical Qualifications

 

·        ETL Expertise: Hands-on experience developing ETL pipelines in tools like SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS) or Information Steward.

·        SAP Migration Tools: Familiarity with standard methodologies including SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit (LTMC / LTMOM)LSMW, and IDoc processing.

·        Database Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, or scripting for staging database creation and complex query building.

·        Domain Knowledge: Foundational understanding of supply chain flows, specifically Materials Management (MM)Inventory Management (IM), and Warehouse Management (EWM) to understand the dependencies of migrated objects.
