Job Description:

The newly created Digital Solutions team is responsible for creating a best in class digital experience for employees and customers. This is the team that ideates, executes, and delivers technology for the client’s retail business unit. The team will partner with business leaders and traditional IT to build cloud, API, web and mobile solutions that powers a $12 billion agriculture retailer. 

They are expanding our cloud platform to enhance omni-channel capabilities, optimize mobile and tablet experiences, and support the digital experience of customers and salesforce. 

We are looking for an API Engineer that will develop and maintain the services and APIs that drive the customer experience. Collaborates with the Scrum Master and development team in translating user requirements into software using agile methodology

Works closely with end-users to identify issues and capture business requirements

Develops compostable services and APIs to support front-end developer team requirements

Translates business requirements into system design specifications

Performs appropriate development and testing activities

Design for high performance and scalability

Deploys regular releases in an agile approach

Creates documentation that supports other development teams in using APIs

Works closely with product owners and development teams to understand use cases for APIs

Minimum of 4 years of back-end development experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline preferred

Experience with scalable architectures and API management frameworks

Knowledge of platforms and tools, such as C#, JAVA, SQL server database, and cloud environments

Knowledge of source code control tools, such as Git

Knowledge of big data technologies is a plus

Experience with systems deployed on Unix/Linux environments

Collaborative with back-end and front-end development teams

Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace

Passion for innovation and “can do” attitude 

2) NO H1B

Java Developer with Java8 experience

Location: Grand Rapids, MI 

Duration: 6-9 months

The work will be developing the Growth Incentive Programs (GIPs) that needs to be completed by the end of August and then some follow up work.  

I will use your team to backfill for some of our developers so your team will focus on development of APIs for MAGIC data, converting the application to JAVA 8, Automation of manual processing within MAGIC, and some bug fix work.  

I think we have some hard deliverables out of this work that we can define within a time frame, perfect for a SOW.
