Job Description:

Summary of Responsibilities

Partner with Enterprise Technology and other Shared Services teams to provide engineering, administration and infrastructure support for PeopleSoft applications.  This includes but is not limited to technical support of hardware, storage, O/S, database engine, file systems, backup software, application servers, web servers, scheduling software, development tools & change control tools associated with the PeopleSoft application/database environments and ancillary systems.  Provide project life cycle support from inception to implementation to post-implementation of PeopleSoft applications, their environments and the associated environments and tools.  

 

Principal Responsibilities

Project Lead – Provide support in lead and secondary roles for PS projects. Provide tech expertise in support of PeopleSoft application development, conversion and integration efforts. Ensure the AD team’s understanding of and adherence to change control procedures and schedules for all production changes.  Assist with the migration of changes.  Prepare system documentation as required for new or existing applications.  Participate in the planning, coordination and/or execution of infrastructure work as it relates to a specific PS project or to the entire portfolio.  Seek operational excellence by ensuring a stable environment, assist with the resolution of any system outage and participate in the identification of root causes.   Finally, ensure other team member’s awareness of the project's timeline and unique issues so that backup/secondary support may be provided without delay and ensure coverage when not available.

 

 

Requirements/ Competencies:

  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Understand DBMS O/S environment, its system commands, system utilities, debugging tools and monitoring tools; skilled in DBMS programming languages, language interfaces and cross platform messaging protocols.
  • Proficient in SQL for the purpose of evaluation and tuning to enhance performance
  • Experience with implementation of PeopleSoft upgrades and code migrations
  • Experience with two or more of the following: Web technology (Weblogic), Windows environments, application server tuning (Tuxedo), load balancing, Unix scripting, Perl scripting
  • Self-directed, self-motivated with strong problem solving skills and customer service oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on cross-functional projects
  • Ability to prepare project plans and assign resources
  • Willingness to work non-prime time hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary; provide 24x7 on-call production support; provide on-site support as required in crisis situations

·         Oracle 10g, 11g

·         IBM AIX 5.3, 6.x

·         PeopleSoft 8.x, 9.x  including installation and configuration of all components

·         Quest Shareplex 5.x

·         BEA Weblogic

·         Quest STAT 5.x

·         Tivoli Maestro Scheduler

·         EMC BCV technology

·         MS Project and Office Suite
