Primary Accountabilities: Participate with business representatives/users and business analysts, release manager, and/or development manager in the requirements definition process. Review and sign-off on completed requirements documents. Translate business requirements into viable technical architectures, database schemas, and designs. Implement the designs (design, code, test, deploy). Support the deployed applications through debugging, fixing, and maintenance releases. Understand the current applications and technical architecture and insure that adherence to architecture standards are followed. Work with users, contractors, vendors and technical personnel to meet project milestones. Stay abreast of new technology and methods to optimize development for the enterprise. Coordinates the activities of a group of developers on a specific effort to drive technology, tools, architecture, and modeling. Effective at complex problem resolution and expected to assist in resolving all difficult to resolve issues--expanding the solution to include infrastructure, architecture, and multi-tier tools and development strategies. Responsible for compliance to IS change management standards, including a lead role in code reviews, implementation plans, contingency plans and updating of disaster recovery plan. Will participate as lead in generating/reviewing technical specifications.

Decision Making: Decisions can be either strategic or tactical in nature and impact the function of the department and organization as a whole. Problems encountered are difficult in nature with various degrees of complexity.
Customer Contact: Works with users, contractors, vendors and technical personnel. Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IS management and staffs at the highest technical level.
Education and Experience: Either (1) 4-year degree, BS Computer Science or Engineering plus 5-8 years of related experience with 1 year of lead experience; or (2) equivalent overall experience typically gained through 12-15+ years' business programming experience with 2 years of management experience.

Web: HTML, CSS, Javascript, YUI, Adobe Photoshop, CVS/SubVersion.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Java: Java, JEE, Javascript, O/R Mapping, SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX scripting, UML, Eclipse, Frameworks (Struts, Stripes, Spring), CVS/SubVersion, HTML, CSS.
.Net: C#, .Net Framework 2.0, OOAandD, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, Windows Forms Applications, MS
Visual Studio 2003/2005, SourceSafe, Team Foundation Server.
Configuration Mgmt: CVS, Subversion, SourceSafe, UNIX scripting, Version control concepts.
The ideal web developer has a Java-focus.
CSS Web Standards HTML XHTML AJAX libraries YUI Dojo are essential to any candidate. Knowing JSP and Servlets is not a qualifier. Yes they are the view of MVC in many cases but we do not write servlets and we do not write new tags. Understanding how to do this is nice but not a requirement. CVS is REQUIRED.
*The Web Developer works in an agile cross functional team environment that supports web tier components of customer acquisition and customer servicing applications written in Java. The position requires that the web developer be able to build dynamic standards-based web content from electronic marketing material as well as maintain and support content in production environments. Candidates should have experience in using source code control CVS or Subversion software development lifecycle web and application servers Java programming frameworks Struts JSP J2EE web standards development using X/HTML CSS and JavaScript and familiarity with UNIX environments. The position requires strong communication problem-solving and organization skills.
