Java-J2EE Consultant/Developer
KL Central, KL Malaysia
Purpose of the Role:
- Capable of driving teams and complex project requirements
- Analyze the business requirements and is able to understand the E2E flow for the same.
- Provides guidance and mentors team members reporting to him.
Successful candidates should have proven track record of driving complex deliveries through difficult situations. She/he should have good communication skills and should have strong telecom experience with at least 3 years in Network Management, Inventory Management (Physical inventory) and OSS area. In addition, they should possess deep hands on technical expertise in building large scale enterprise application and databases using technologies like Java/J2EE, Oracle RDBMS, Webservices, XML and HTML/JavaScript. Prior experience in telecom domain especially in network management would be mandatory.
Responsibilities:
o To interface with both the vendors and internal organization at architects/designers/developers level.
o To work with program managers and colleagues across BT to ensure programs/projects are successful and integrated with other programs taking place across the company.
o Drives BT’s efficiency targets both in cost and quality.
o To analyze problems and propose solutions by presenting working PoC’s (beta code).
o To ensure the appropriate change control processes are established.
o To conduct regular project reviews and implement corrective actions.
o Enhance efficiency of dev/test/release process - develop tools, frameworks as required
Essential Skills and experience:
· Experience
o Bachelor’s degree (in any stream) from IIT/ IISc or equivalent university.
o 3-5 or 6 years of experience in the IT industry.
· Skills
o Strong technical expertise in enterprise technologies like Java/J2ee
o Strong technical expertise in Oracle RDBMS and PL/SQL.
o Significant knowledge and hands on experience in using Oracle DBMS including PL/SQL skills.
o Strong technical expertise in XML, webservices
o Technical experience in web technologies like HTML/JavaScript/AJAX.
o Experience in AGILE methodology of development
o At least 5+ years of experience in programming in an OOP language such as Java
o Must have advanced level knowledge and hands on experience of the language and associated aspects
o Good knowledge of algorithms & data structures.
o Excellent programming and debugging skills
o Experience in developing server side solutions using component frameworks
o Experience in developing scalable web based applications
o Ability to quickly gather requirements, explore multiple approaches and suggest optimal solutions
o Must have a strong interest in learning new skills/technologies and curiosity to explore various technologies and solution approaches.
o Proven analytical & problem solving skills
o Good communication skills and a team player
o Enhance efficiency of dev/test/release process - develop tools, frameworks as required.
o Experience in use of continuous integration and automated code quality tools like CheckStyle, Junit etc.

Key purpose of the role:
We are looking for a strong and experienced Java/J2EE developer who will perform both as an individual contributor as well as an able team leader. This individual will perform new development as well as support enhancements to a complex business application.

To provide subject matter expertise on engineering workforce and task workflow management and ensure we get the highest quality from our suppliers while keeping the costs controlled thus reducing our reliance on a particular supplier.
Responsibilities
· End to end design for multiple Java/J2EE Application, Oracle and work flow development Projects from an Engineering point of view.
· Ability to do deep dive on technical areas and get the best outcome out of technically challenging situations.
· Be hands on and a role model for vendor technical teams.
· Understand the telecom domain well enough to act as domain focal point
· Understand need of multiple projects and communicate them divisionally and/or cross-divisionally
· Contribute to the definition of the team processes and standards
· Manage concurrent application releases and large engineering teams to deliver quality software releases on time from a design perspective.
Essential Skills (Skills without which the person cannot perform the role, limit to a maximum of four skills only ) · Experience of end to end design and development of multiple Java/J2EE Application, Oracle and work flow development projects. · Exposure to engineering workforce and task workflow management in telecom domain. · Experience in technical leadership of complex project deliveries end-to-end with matrix managed structure. · Effective verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications
Essential · Possess B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or related field · Possess typically 8-10 years of previous software engineering or related experience, out of which 2+ years of experience as a designer · Strong Java/J2EE and Oracle database skills · Possess excellent written and oral communication skills · Exposure to engineering workforce and task workflow management in telecom domain.
