Remote VMWare Virtualization Engineer

Client: Davita

Duration: 6 to 12 months.

Education – Engineering background Only

 

DaVita has 2 Data Centers.  Mark and Jason are looking for a VMWare Engineer not an Admin.  This position is higher than a VMWare Admin.  They will be working with Jason to assist in upgrading and migrating the platform.

This is an on-prem VMWare based virtualization team.  Need someone who is a self starter.  Need to be senior level with experience in VMWare, VCenter, VSphere.  They will be making sure this environment is up and running, available, performing, compute resources, expansion plans, HW, upgrades.  They will be doing automation, monitoring, reporting, tasks, documentation, maintenance, creatiion, right sizing etc.  This is Tier 3 troubleshooting.  They will refresh server compute in  Data Centers (design & engineer)
-They are looking at expanding VMWare projects: NSX, hyper-converge

Top skills:

• Long history of ENTERPRISE based infrastructure
• Deep knowledge of VSphere and VCenter and entire suite; life cycle management etc.
• They have 1,000 machines and hundreds of hosts so Enterprise exp is crucial

 

VMWare Virtualization Engineer for IT Operations & Infrastructure team

-Working within the Infrastructure Services team, the Virtualization Engineer role focuses on the development, testing, and implementation of virtualization infrastructure and services.
-The Virtualization Engineer will contribute to the execution of design, architecture, implementation, integration, and processes to define the capabilities and understanding of what virtualized infrastructure and compute services can accomplish.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Contribute to deliverables for engineering priorities as defined in the engineering roadmaps. Support the management of pilot or POC initiatives. 20% 5. Active participation and contribution in engineering forums, new technology meetings, and steering committees. 5% 6. Research and evaluate technology for appropriateness. Implement upgrade or migration strategies. 10% 7. Contribute to technical and business-related discussions with stakeholders from various parts of the business. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR QUALIFICATIONS
