Job Description:
This Quality Assurance Manager role will be part of an exciting new
division within the client. This division is responsible for creating
value-added content and analytics for internal and external clients.
These solutions are based on the models produced by the client's
industry leading Equity Analysts. This individual will be responsible
for managing and maintaining the quality assurance of components and
modules of the sophisticated application suite.This role will be
reporting to the Program Management Office within the division.
Responsibilities:
Implement quality assurance processes for the application development
lifecycle
Develop and manage software QA programs
Develop plans and goals for QA program implementations
Manage and coordinate off-shore testing teams
Design and define QA standards and procedures in conjunction with
Development and Business sponsors
Publish software test deliverables including test strategies, test
plans, test scenarios (including cases and scripts)
Coordinate system test activities with business, development,
deployment and operations
Work closely with business to elicit business use cases and acceptance
criteria
Create test results reports for management and business
Participate or coordinate testing team members to participate in
requirement and design reviews representing QA
Configuration Management
Facilitate risk and business impact assessment for user reported bugs
and establish prioritization hierarchy for resolution
Mentor, educate and develop QA staff to create professional QA function
Drive continuous process improvement initiatives for the entire
organization
Requirements:
Possess strong leadership and successful team building capabilities
with
excellent technical, communication, presentation, and customer service
skills
Ability to work and communicate with cross-functional teams (business,
development, executive management, etc.)
Must have prior experience defining software quality methodologies
10+ years of professional experience
Familiarity with RUP and IEEE software testing standards
RUP artefacts: Use Case, Class Diagrams
Use of Mercury defect tracking tools such as Test Director a plus
Functional testing experience with exposure to automated testing and
associated tools such as Mercury Winrunner or Rational Robot
Technical architecture and development experience a plus
Understanding of Web based technologies (.Net, ASP, C#, Javascript,
Java)
Proficient in project management and resource scheduling
Experience of managing a QA team with both employees and consultants;
working cross time zones (North America, Europe, and India)
Prior financial services/accounting experience a plus, but not
essential
Experience in managing full life cycle software development projects
with respect to issues such as multiple developers working on the same
code at the same time, the targeting of multiple platforms, support and
release of multiple versions, and controlling the status of code (e.g.
beta test versus real release).
