AOOo a 64 bit (e relativo Java) su Windows

Salve a tutti!
Chiedo a chi di voi segua le peripezie del prossimo venturo Apache
OpenOffice.org, se si dice che compileranno una versione a 64 bit (che
supporterà la relativa versione di Java).
Ho da pochi mesi un piccì a 64 bit e sinceramente mi disturba poterli
usare solo su Linux ;)

P.S.: sì, lo so che posso usare le versioni a 32 e lo faccio, ma perché?!?!?

ho però letto che quelli di LibO hanno intenzione piano piano di
sostituire questi "pezzi" a 16-bit
in più moderne versioni 32-bit

E' indispensabile, perché ci sono molti componenti che cominceranno a
funzionare sempre peggio a causa delle nuove architetture hardware.
Ovviamente, queste modifiche potranno generare dei bug e delle
regressioni, perché le dipendenze - anche se gli sviluppatori stanno
cercando di ridurle - sono praticamente infinite.
Comunque, l'annuncio che faremo tra dieci minuti chiarirà più di un
dubbio, a chi pensava che questa attività di svecchiamento del codice
non avesse delle basi molto solide, e delle motivazioni legate allo
sviluppo delle piattaforme hardware.
