The issue may be that there was never offical compatiblity for the TL-WN725N V1 with windows 10. The chipset maker may have made one but TP-Link never confrimed the V1 of this adapter would work with Windows 10. Also it has been seen that each time MS updates Windows 10 there is always a chance current drivers will not work or have issues. In situations like that the Chipset make in this case realtek will have to look at the cause and develop a solution for that chipset. Since we do not give offical support for Windows 10 the best solution would be to check with Realtek if this particualr chipset will recieve an update for the new Windows 10 build.
The adapter works for wifi just fine, and in the device manager, the Generic Bluetooth adapter appears under bluetooth, and under network adapters it shows the Realtek PCIe Familyh controller and the Realtek RTL8188ce bgn controller. In the past it has shown 2 other bluetooth devices (now it shows a failure on the generic adapter) but no matter what, there is no switch in the network control panels to turn bluetooth on, and attempts to do bluetooth all fail -- the device can't be discovered, nor can it discover others.
That's odd because I saw the Realtek listed in an HP manual for the g7, and realtek has windows 8 drivers on its web site. And as noted the wifi works great, though the card does not have abgn as somebody told me it did. Is there an abgn plus bluetooth card that works or is only bgn possible on this laptop. I will dig through the manual to see if I can find the model number of Ralink you refer to.
Funny thing is that the driver was able to see the MAC address of the bluetooth -- but not more than that.
But the g7 does not complain at all -- and in fact I am writing this to you over the wifi in that card. I am not sure why the bios would want to reject such cards, but the realtek is on some lists for the g7, which is why I got it. The card was only $7 so no big deal.
Mainly HP laptops with Realtek wireless network adapters, try to connect to the company network (we have 2 one for setup of a software that helps connect to the main network and means that the user should have no issues connecting after a password change as it should auto update the password. Both of these networks fail to connect
Here is the really strange thing, we probably have around 4000 users that use their laptops/phones etc on WiFi but around 1-2% cannot connect their laptops to the WiFi due to this issue, when you try to connect and during the connection process it disables the network adapter and brings it back online and then states it cannot connect to this network.
it is mostly apparent on Windows 10 Update 1803 but also been experiencing it on windows 8.1. However, we have had some laptops with exactly the same specs and hardware and OS versions that connects fine
Disabling and re-enabling the network adapter, in network settings in control panel, uninstalling the network adapter and reinstalling it in device manager, updating drivers, rolling back to previous versions of drivers, checking for any outstanding windows updates using an ethernet connection.
I am having the same issue with hp laptops. Wifi gets disabled, print spooler stops and audio is disabled. I have updated the bios, firmware and drivers but to no effect. 1803 is playing ball with these hp laptops
The WiFi infrastructure is massive as it is spread about the whole campus, however, the number of people affected is low in comparison to the number of users probably around 1% (not including staff which devices are all bought in large quantities at once.
Thanks for this I will try it tomorrow when back in work we are currently trying to get a spreadsheet together with information on MAC addresses and hardware names as well as driver version and as per Toxic_Potato suggestion, we will also start checking firmware versions as well.
If you have a Live Linux Distro on a USB stick then you could try one of the affected laptops with that. If the fault disappears then you know it is a Windows issue only and if it is still there then maybe a hardware issue such as switch antenna connections. Any Linux Distro will do for the test - preferably a lightweight one so that it responds better seeing as it will be working from the USB stick. It is always good to have a Live Linux Distro in your toolbox for situations such as these.
I will try and see if I can get a device that has the original image available. But I guess the chances of that are slim. Maybe I will get someone that is able to leave a laptop with me to backup and install from an iso but usually these students need their laptops for classes.
I have recently started having problems with windows 10 dropping the connection to the hub requiring an adapter reset each time to bring it back. I have narrowed down the problems after alot of digging.
When I set the Realtek card to 802.11b, the slow wifi connection, I have no problems whatsoever, the wifi maintains a link all day, the second I attempt to get a fast connection using 802.11g or 802.11b/g, I get around a 30 second connection before the network drops.
Incase this helps, when it drops the connection the error is generally IP related. I have also noticed that, at drop out, the network status switches from connected to private network to public network and hangs on identifying, there appears to be an issue with the software.
I can not find a windows 10 driver on Realteks site. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver. I have flushed the DNS, restarted the TCP/IP stack. I've also been monitoring the network using wireshark and it seems that the allocation of IP addresses appears sporadic when using 802.11bg eventually locking out when 0.0.0.0 / 255.255.255.0 address is used.
I bought the pc back in October and it hasn't set a foot wrong until the start of December, can anyone suggest anything that I haven't already tried before I take it back, I have always been happy with HP but if it's going to be so hit and miss whilst running on windows ten I'll be giving it back to the shop, I can't afford to not have a fast wifi link because the card isn't up to the job or the software doesn't run right.
Thanks for finding that it's worked a treat.............so far. Wireshark is showing more consistent flow and the link is maintaining a good speed, I don't know where you found the driver but I'm very greatful
This package contains the DCHU driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8188EE, RTL8723BE, RTL8723DE, RTL8821CE, and RTL8822BE wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook and desktop models running a supported Microsoft Windows 10 or Windows 10 Cloud operating systems.

so i have installed some legacy drivers for my computer because i need to do so (one for nvidia-390xx which i fixed it myself by removing the packages and installing them again), and one for my wifi usb stick (realtek-8188), so i noticed something isn't correct and my wifi interface isn't going up successfully. whenever i tried to connect using wifi-menu this error throws in the console:
i can't connect to wifi, i tried to do any solution for this such as "connecting manually by creating the netctl profile" which all of them ended up with same error.
after that i thought the cause of it must be installation of the driver with aur package, so then i listed packges with
i don't think so, i read an article about a fact which there is a driver conflicting with it and you should blacklist it for me its "r8188eu"
so, i deleted the r8188eu driver and installed kelebek's driver for the device, however i could get the dongle working, but it couldn't find any networks around me, and i can't get it to connect to a network.
