I was also having this same issue, except that I hid all the ones I don't use, and the autofit box still wasn't showing up! Until I clicked on the image I wanted to resize, then it appeared. So instead of it just being there, like it always was in the past, it now only shows up when there is an image to be fit. Super confusing but I'm sure someone thought it was a great way to save space on the bar.

I have made an example below to show my problem. By default all columns are the same width and text is wrapped to fit, but there is therefore space wasted. I want to fit columns to the data (using autofit) but this then makes the columns so wide they go off the screen. I'm hoping for a happy-medium with mpg, vs and carb wider but some text wrapping still happening. E.g. I want this:

FYI - I ran into this same problem today and used your code (thank you). But it still was bothering me because I couldn't get it quite right. I noticed on the Officedown package website (same author; ) they used set_table_properties(layout = "autofit") so I tried that. For whatever reason it worked as expected when doing that! I also was using officedown with default settings, so maybe the two worked well together.

Using part of your example from above, the following line of code would autofit the columns, then resize to fit the max table width in inches given as the second argument (here I am going for 1/2 inch doc margins):

One caveat of this is that for some of my tables, adding the fit_to_width() function slowed the rendering process considerably. For those tables, I used @bumbledore's suggested set_table_properties(layout = "autofit") and it worked great (and for the record, I am also using officedown with default settings).

My neanderthal brain is incapable of making viable builds. Just press the magic autofit button, fiddle with the flux vent/cap a bit, maybe switch a few weapons about, sometimes for actually useful purposes, most of the time just for symmetry. Am I the only small-brain neanderthal that is not suited to playing the game "the way it was meant to be"? And yes, I play combat as a RTS.

Why is the text frame changing size/shape while typing? The Text Frame Tool makes a box which does not change. Overflowing text will be shown / not shown depending on the option in the Text Frame panel. The Artistic Text Tool is autoexpanding / autofit.

Text autofit improvements give you complete control over text, such as preserving your preferred font size and preventing it from automatically shrinking. There are now three autofit options for managing text elements:

Upgrading projects lets text overflow by default, preserving legacy autofit behavior. However, you can add scroll bars to individual fixed-size text objects at any time. Simply select the text object and choose the overflow option to Add scroll bars, as shown above.

You can also change the text autofit settings for multiple ungrouped text elements at once. Just select the ones you want to update and right-click on any element, then select Format Shape and choose one of the autofit options.

Text autofit improvements show you where those scroll bars might appear in the published output, so you can remove them before learners see them. Just expand the height of the text element or toggle to the Expand width autofit setting, as shown below.

Install the Storyline 3 April 2023 update to restore compatibility with Storyline 360. You can open, edit, and publish Storyline 360 project files that use text autofit improvements in Storyline 3. However, you can't upgrade text in Storyline 3 project files.

While these enhancements are necessary to ensure all learners can access and read text, we heard from customers that the new autofit settings negatively impacted their authoring experience. Sometimes, unexpected scroll bars appeared due to text objects having extra lines, characters, or other elements that overflowed the bounds or margins of the shape. We realize that enabling text autofit enhancements by default resulted in extra work for authors.

You can upgrade projects at any time to use text autofit improvements and improve accessibility. Text autofit improvements can't be turned off once enabled. However, you can import slides into a new project file to revert to legacy autofit settings since text autofit improvements are disabled by default in new projects.

If you run the Player in fullscreen after the host resolution was changed the guest has either scroll bars or shows a black frame. The player will autofit the guest resolution once you leave fullscreen but thats exactly what i don't want.

Looks like even the hidden columns are included when calculating row height.
One way would be to copy the visible cells in the row to a temporary row and autofit that then apply height to the required row. Not a very neat solution.

It loops through each column in your selected range and checks to see if it is hidden or not. If it's not a hidden column then it autofits that column. If it is a hidden column it goes on to the next one.

This appears to autofit the columns as it loops. I have a specific column width for each visible column that I'll apply later in my procedure, but I just want to autofit the rows in the worksheet while ignoring the hidden columns. I'm wrapping the cell contents so I can use autofit to expand the row height, not the column width. Can you suggest how to do it?

I understand this can be achieved with a UV map. I would just like to project an image onto a surface and have it autofit without going through the UV process. I take it there is no way to do this in Blender?

While porting from V7 to V8 I cannot find an equivalent for autofit functionality used with V7 containers.
e.g. To fit to the size of the children lv_cont_set_fit2( cont, LV_FIT_PARENT, LV_FIT_TIGHT );

I am having trouble getting tables to automatically resize their cell widths based on the cell contents. I assume autofit would do this but when I try to use them nothing happens apart from the table cells span across the whole document width.

The MOBIDERM autofit adjustable mobilizing garment uses MOBIDERM Technology for effective control of lymphatic fluid and fibrotic tissue while at rest or at night. The MOBIDERM autofit enables patients to easily and consistently take control of their own self-management.

Currently, there is no autofit option for column width in Table visual. In this scenario, you should be able to change the column width manually by dragging the mouse on the right side of column header.

Aspose.Cells provides a Workbook class that represents a Microsoft Excel file. The Workbook class contains a Worksheets collection that allows access to each worksheet in an Excel file. A worksheet is represented by the Worksheet class. The Worksheet class provides a wide range of properties and methods for managing a worksheet. This article looks at using the Worksheet class to autofit rows or columns.

With Aspose.Cells it is possible to autofit rows even for cells that have been merged using the AutoFitterOptions API. AutoFitterOptions class provides AutoFitMergedCellsType property that can be used to autofit rows for merged cells. AutoFitMergedCellsType accepts AutoFitMergedCellsType enumerable which has the following members.
