Ivor did this in our van last year. It is a huge help not only when
making a meal but when doing the dishes. Ivor fitted a small 'lip'
under the top of the benchtop and placed the batten on the pantry
cupboard and the shelf is now exactly the same height as the bench
which works really well. The shelf stows down on the floor next to
the pantry it sits there perfectly and hasnt moved while travelling.
Its a great idea.
We also fitted a solar panel and we DO have a telly and it runs off
the 12volt and we havent had a problem with it. We dont have it on
often and we dont run it for hours but even having it on from say 6 to
10 it doesnt seem to run the battery down much and by the time we are
up in the morning the solar panel has recharged everything.
We also dont plug in to 230 volt much when we are away which is great
as it means you can park up anywhere legal that doesnt have power.
We just love our camper and are hoping to add new springs and a new
towbar when we get back from our overseas trip. We want to tow a 4x4
quad bike for the fishing gear and plan to spend a LOT of time
fishing.
Must look at those campers in Nelson to JOhn
cheers
