Hi all,

The more input I see, the more I realise how useful our site is. I am a little surprised that our numbers have not increased at all in two to three years. There are plenty of potential members out there, lets try and recruit them.

This can be done by direct contact of course but failing that, if they are members of the NZMCA you can take their membership number and email Diane Flay (di...@nzmca.org.nz) who will pass on a message to the owner.

If anyone is interested there are two Isuzu Rodeo motorhomes for sale in Nelson, both at 24/7 Cars of Muritai St.

Happy motorhoming, John.

Hello Isuzu Members,
We had intended to sell but then got an opportunity to work at Mt Nicholas Station, Lake wakatipu for 6 months , so are currently halfway through that time  loving the experience on a high country station.
We have another similar van (Toyota Hilux) in QLD & will return to Aussie for the winter.
Our Isuzu is fantastic, only about 80,000km on the clock so lots of life in her yet. The interior is in original good order but Steve has improved the outlet tap on the greywater tank, much easier to access now.
The other tip which I think is worth passing on is; Steve cut an extra benchtop, out of an old formica type cupboard door & it fits neatly across the doorway while you are cooking. It only needed a small batten attached to the pantry cupboard & the other end rests on the bench near the gas hob. This gives a huge benefit when preparing & cooking a meal.It stows behind the drivers seat when not in use.
The solar panels some of you have fitted will be excellent. We put a solar panel on the Hilux in  Oz & its all we need.We have a capsule ,hubby's toybox on our roof so no room for solar on our Isuzu.
We go 5 days easily with out plugging into power in NZ ,infact we never plug into power here or in Oz .But we don't have TV. Who needs it when the great outdoors in all its beauty beckons.
We recently had 4 nights down around the Caitlins sth Coast. Beautiful & so much to see & do. How awesome are the mountains in the Sth Island, amazing. My garden view at Mt Nic is Mt Earnslaw & it still has quite alot of snow..
 happy travelling folk &
laugh more & live longer
regards Sue
ps
any idea of the asking price on those vans for sale in Nelson John?

Ivor did this in our van last year. It is a huge help not only when
making a meal but when doing the dishes. Ivor fitted a small 'lip'
under the top of the benchtop and placed the batten on the pantry
cupboard and the shelf is now exactly the same height as the bench
which works really well. The shelf stows down on the floor next to
the pantry it sits there perfectly and hasnt moved while travelling.
Its a great idea.
We also fitted a solar panel and we DO have a telly and it runs off
the 12volt and we havent had a problem with it. We dont have it on
often and we dont run it for hours but even having it on from say 6 to
10 it doesnt seem to run the battery down much and by the time we are
up in the morning the solar panel has recharged everything.
We also dont plug in to 230 volt much when we are away which is great
as it means you can park up anywhere legal that doesnt have power.

We just love our camper and are hoping to add new springs and a new
towbar when we get back from our overseas trip. We want to tow a 4x4
quad bike for the fishing gear and plan to spend a LOT of time
fishing.

Must look at those campers in Nelson to JOhn

cheers
Patsy

In reply to your enquiry, Sue, the Rodeos for sale in Nelson can be seen on  www.24-7cars.co.nz.  The asking price is now $29,000 and $22,000 respectively. Cheers, John.

Hi John,
Accessing the sites a bit easier these days and its good to see you all using it. I've been a bit earthquake distracted until 2015 I understand, but our Rodeo BoJangles is a welcome retreat when we do get away.
I've added a link to the users group on my website at www.lifteye.co.nz if you ever need a lift.
Regards to all, we thoroughly enjoy your experiences and tips.
Bob & Jan.

Hi Sue

I am often working in Queenstown and fly out over Mt Nicholas station occasionally.
What a "horrible " place to have to work.  :-)  Wish it was me.

My work keeps getting in the way of my exploring!

regards
Pauline
