STEP 03
Please download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.
Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
Can you please show me a screen shot of it. Also please restart the computer, then run FRST again and make sure you place a checkmark in the Additions.txt check box and post back both new logs as an attachment.
Here you go...I assumed you wanted a screenshot with the splashtop streamer on there. There is no uminstall in control panel programs nor through the program itself. Crapware which I have no clue got on my computer.
Run FRST or FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
If the tool needs a restart please make sure you let the system restart normally and let the tool complete its run after restart.
The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please attach or post it to your next reply.
Please review the following website and read it before continuing and then do a Hard Reset back to Factory Defaults for your router.
This information is only for resetting the router DO NOT erase, install, or update the firmware, just reset your router to factory defaults.
Please visit each of the following sites and let's reset all of your browsers back to defaults to prevent unexpected issues.
If you are not using one of the browsers but it is installed then you may want to consider uninstalling it as older versions of some software can pose an increase in the potential for an infection to get in.
Ok I followed all your steps. First of all, Splashtop was still on my desktop but did not load automatically. I finally had the ability to go into programs and uninstall it normally. It never let me do that before. Thank you for that. However, I still am plagued by the popups and redirects. I get this a popup with this address on a separate webpage when i go to a variety of different websites. Here is an example when I go to ESPN.com. The popup page has a list of 3 messages. When I go to highlight them to copy and paste here it redirects me to other popups with ads.....
Yep, just once again confirms my dislike of that browser. Okay, save/export your bookmarks to a location outside of the Chrome folder structure. Then once again, make sure you have disabled Chrome sync. If it is not disabled this problem will return 100% guaranteed.
Once that is done, then go into Control Panel, Programs, Add/Remove and uninstall Chrome. Then restart the computer. Run a new FRST scan and make sure you place a check mark on the Additions.txt check box and post back both new logs and I'll help you remove a few other Chrome items the uninstaller does not remove.
Thank you! How is this happening only within the Chrome browser? Its not infecting my computer, just the Chrome Browser? Will I be able to use Chrome normally again after we have implemented all of your fixes? Why do I need sync off? Where is this malware lurking exactly? Thanks so much!!
Chrome is your default browser and you came in contact with some site or advertisement more than likely, that inserted itself as a change. Sync keeps most of your settings so they can be shared across devices and why it needs to be disabled. Somewhere within the settings of Chrome is where it's located. I gave you instruction on how to reset Chrome, but wherever it's set in there most users can't seem to find and remove. I don't use Chrome myself as I just don't like it, this issue is one of the reasons. Most users are able to clean IE, Edge, Firefox but not Chrome without a full removal and reinstall.
I did stop sync, reset my computer, and Un installed Chrome before I ran frst....also besides the redirects the more annoying this were the unwanted pop-ups which oftentimes wouldnt let me go to certain sites because crap would keep popping up.
Splashtop Wired XDisplay is a Windows program that lets you use your iPad as a second monitor for your PC. Thanks to a simple setup process, you can have everything ready to go in a matter of seconds, after which you'll have a second monitor to view all the windows you're working with.
Splashtop Wired XDisplay's simple interface lets you adjust the image ratio according to your preferences. That way, you can set things up to make your second monitor as useful as possible without sacrificing image quality. In fact, iPad screen resolution is more than enough to work as a conventional monitor.
You'll also need to install the Splashtop Wired XDisplay app on your iPad to use this program. After that, you can link your PC and iPad and enjoy your dual setup. That said, you'll need to use a cable to connect the devices.
Splashtop Wired XDisplay is a handy tool if you want a second PC screen but don't want to buy an additional monitor. All you need is an iPad connected to the Mac or PC you use for this tool to work. With this program, you can enjoy working between two fully operational monitors.

When working in a digital environment, it can sometimes feel limiting to work with only one display. Working on one monitor can limit how many windows you can see at once, limiting the ability to multitask. Extra monitors can be very expensive, but with the iPad there's a way to utilize it as an extra wireless monitor with an application called Splashtop X Display.
X Display will turn the iPad into a second wireless display, which is useful for reducing desktop clutter and having another screen while working. It can be used for other recreational activities like playing a movie on the second screen while working on the main display. Being able to use the iPad as a portable display is great for laptop owners because both are extremely portable. While using the iPad as a second display, you can take full advantage of touch gestures. I've personally used my iPad and X Display as a cheaper mini Cintiq. While using X Display, I've experienced little to no video lag when drawing on it in Photoshop or watching videos.
You can download X Display from the app store, but in order to use it on your laptop, PC, or Mac you have to download the Splashtop Streamer and create an account. X Display is free to download, but is limited to 5 minute sessions. You can upgrade to the full version for $9.99.
I use X Display while drawing in Photoshop and have an internet browser open in another tab with my reference, or maybe a video playing for entertainment while I work. While working in Blender and Scupltris, dual monitors allow me to model and sculpt detail without having to close or move windows.
