Dear All,
Hope all is well.  I would like to bring to your attention a grave matter which is gaining momentum and needs to be stopped immediately. There is a racket of fraudsters in town who have mastered the art of forging valuation reports of different firms and are defrauding banks and the general public of huge sums of money.
We have been fortunate enough to stop the process at the point where "our" forged  reports are handed over to the banks given the unique features on the Knight Frank templates which have been specifically designed for that purpose.  I must add however that these fraudsters are doing a good job of forging these reports, instruction letters from banks and even stamps. That someone who doesn't have a keen eye would easily miss it.
We have arrested 2 of the main suspects but there are more at large. In their possession were numerous reports of different valuation firms (and I will be contacting those firms individually shortly). These thugs basically will come as walk in clients and actually request for a valuation of a property, then take it and remove the value pages and others where the report is signed and doctored  by changing the photos, the value and other information and submit it to the bank with forged signatures and stamps of the registered valuer which they have made. They then use this report for numerous banks which increases the valuers exposure even more.
We need to be more vigilant and careful about who is actually requesting for these reports, where they are taking them and for what purpose.
I also propose that perhaps all valuers keep an even closer contact with the RM's of the bank to track both instructions and report trails, especially where instructions are verbal or from walk in clients.
One of the gentlemen is called Haruna Kibirige, and the other one is Nasser a qualified Land Economist now turned fraudster extroadinaire who used to work with one of the Valuation firms in Kampala.
Kind regards, Judy.
