Dear ISTD members,
This is Dr R Karthikeyan, Chairman - ISTD Chennai Chapter writing to you.
I am sure few of you would be aware of the tough flood and cyclonic conditions that we are currently facing here at Chennai. Considering the less amount of media coverage this particular catastrophy is receiving, many may not be aware of the effects the on-going calamity is having on Chennai.
The city is currently inaccessible by road, rail and air. With power supply not available in most localities and high scarcity for basic amenities like food and water, the city is paralyzed like never before.
Me and few other office bearers of Chennai chapter being few of the privileged people with access to power supply and other basic amenities, would like to come forward and make an appeal at a national level.
ISTD Chennai Chapter is working with The Hindu newspaper on flood relief by collecting donations towards the cause.
I therefore urge you all to kindly donate generously through cash and kind and support the cause.
We are looking to consolidate our collections and share the relief funds by 5.12.2015 to The Tamil Hindu newspaper. Your earliest response and action would be highly appreciated.
My special request to Delhi office and National President - ISTD to kindly make support us to make a difference in these tough times.

Dear Sirs,
As per the below appeal from our Chairman, there are some positive feed backs from many of his friends and well wishers. I am trying to contact you by mobile. Some cases I fail to reach you. Request you to inform your donation details either vide e mail or message before tomorrow. We will be finalizing the amount by close of Monday at ISTD office and planning to hand over the same through reliable agency ( Positively The Hindu ) to reach to the deserving public victims.
ISTD Bangalore office has committed an average contribution per office bearer Rs.3000.00, which will reach us before Monday. Materials from Bangalore and other cities are plying vide KPN travels.
