1968 Kata Sensei Murphy and Sensei Weber

Hello all,
Sensei Weber was nice enough to send me a dvd of he and Sensei Murphy performing Isshin Ryu kata in 1968. I believe this is in Jersey City. Bill Briamonte will recognize the dojo if it is.I was a green belt at the time and I remember coming to class one day, in Summit, and hearing we were changing our system. Loving what I was learning and having full faith of Sensei Murphy, I said "OK!" From all that Sensei Murphy had learned up to that point, Isshin Shorinji Ryu was born. There are some clips of Master Gogen Yamaguchi, "The Cat", of Goju, performing Sanchin kata. You can see the similarities in ours. If any of you would like me to burn you a copy, I will. I sent a copy of the DVD of you and your brother to Shihan Chirico- he lost a good chunk of his dojo and records in a storm last winter, and I was trying to help him replace some documents and such. He called the other night and had really high compliments for you and your brother's kata.

It looks pretty good, especially the footage in the dojo.

Doesn't it look like the system is hatching from the egg, as Soke Murphy is moving away from the vertical punches and half-twist forearm blocks in the original Sunsu?

Hello everyone. I'm not sure if anyone will see this post. Some of you know Sensei Al Santucci. He just celebrated his 86th birthday the other day but he is in very bad shape physically. As you may know about 7 years ago he and his wife Anita were hit by an automobile on a very cold and snowy night which was the last night  before their retirement. Anita died of course a day later and Concho Santucci sustained injuries from which he never recovered.

 I've been in touch with him all these years and just recently he fell in his home, hit his head on a tile floor and has suffered from seizures. He is now full time in rehabilitation.  He can't speak to well, is very shaky and must be totally taken care off physically.I visited him today again, and told him that I would attempt to contact some of you if possible. If you receive this message,would you write a note of encouragement and I will print it out and read it to him. I know he would like that very much. Thanks, Sensei Leo Weber. I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear about your recent fall. Knowing you, I would expect you fell the way Sensei Murphy taught us😛. Al, I think of you dealing with these on going  health issues and I am amazed at your strength of will and character.
