Looks like he may have moved into the Bank Street Dojo a little after Soke Murphy moved out. Some interesting history adjacent to, if not quite about, Isshin Shorinji Ryu.

Hi Chris,

Yes, we moved out of the Summit dojo in 1970. Sankyu time for me. Either during his time there or the next occupant of 6 Bank Street in Summit, there was a fire that burned everything. 

On a happy note, for those of you who remember the SNL skit Cheeburger, no coke, Pepsi, the Summit diner is right around the corner. It was the restuarant visited by one of the SNL writers 

I would go there after class and get coffee and tea for Sensei Murphy and the other blackbelts. And of course I would order a ‘Cheeburger’ and a coke, only to be corrected, “No Coke, Pepsi. 😀
