Hope all's well with everyone!

I found two sorta interesting newspaper stories. One is about a judo
demo that Allen Good put on with Polly Siefert in 1968, and the other
(a very short, quaint piece) is about a karate promotion that Bill
Bressaw held in 1970. Neither gets me any closer to contacting any of
the missing students of Soke Murphy, but I am still at it!

Hi Chris,
Allen Good owned the karate school where we worked out. Polly Seifert is in the picture to the left of my brother in Summitt N. J. She, Amos Chang, and my brother were the last blackbelts promoted under Murphy as Isshinryu blackbelts. Bob

Is that this 4/4/71 FDU Collegiate Tournament photo? Would Polly be the blonde in the back row?

Is that you in the middle, right behind Woody Jensen, with the headband?

Hi Chris.

I do not know if this will be of interest to you, but I received the following from Stephen Jeckle

The Art of Isshin-Shorinji-Ryu was founded by Soke Robert Murphy and Robert Jeckel was one of his early students in the art. Jeckel Sensei, on May 5, will be instructing a seminar at Arizona Aikido. The seminar will focus on different striking/ kicking techniques, pressure points, practical application of these techniques and possibly some judo throws/leg sweeps. Jeckel Sensei has been studying the martial arts for over 50 years. His back ground includes yodansha rank in Isshin-Shorinji-ryu Okinawa Karate, Shotokan Karate and Judo. To add, Jeckel Sensei has had experience in boxing, Kobudo weapons work and was trained in jungle warfare during his time served in the military. Jeckel Sensei is a fantastic instructor and is a truly gifted martial artist. Please take advantage of this wonderful event. The seminar is free and open to anyone. The event can be found on www.azaikido.com or you can email me here at Faceboook for more information.

No, it's the picture in Summit with Murphy sitting in front with two others and the rest behind him standing.

Hi Bill,

The only contact info I have for the Jeckel’s family is the email on their website. I am forwarding your email to that email address, Con...@AZAikido.org. Hopefully, it will reach Stephen or Bob.

Best,

Rod
