Hello Everyone,
Chuck died early this morning, peacefully. We talked a lot when I visited. Isshin Shorinji Ryu was a big topic. We spoke about all the wonderful people we trained with and of course about the importance of Sensei Murphy. How lucky for us that Chuck picked the school in Summit from the yellow pages. His devotion to our system and his love of teaching improved us all. Recently, Scott Francis mentioned he would make a spot for an item of my brothers in his dojo. A kind gesture. I think that item should be a one page letter Chuck wrote to Sensei Murphy. It's called 'Observations'. I've enclosed it. It came about from the actions of one of our black belts. I won't go into details. Reading it will explain it. Some of the things my brother will be remembered for is his teaching ability. A direct result of Bob Murphy. Chuck added a kata to practice our eight point soft block as well as a Kama, tunfa and nuchaku, taikyoku bo and taikyoku sai. The two, latter, for brown belts to introduce them to the weapons forms.
Last fall we enjoyed a wonderful trip to Sweden together to visit exchange students he and Sandie took in. It was great. We talked karate there too. 😁

Chuck died August 24th. I tried to mail this letter that day and it didn't send. Thank you to all for your kind notes. Bob
