Hi everyone. It's with a sad heart and a grieved spirit that I have to tell you all that Sensei Al Santucci died over this past weekend. I had seen him about a month ago, went to visit him yesterday, only to find out that he had died. I'm in touch with his caregiver who still needs to call me back. I will keep you all informed when I know some more information. Sensei L. Weber

I shared your sad news with my students tonight and let them know as much as I could about the Santuccis and their contributions to Isshin Shorinji Ryu and karate in general. Hopefully they'll remember a little of it and the two of them will live on as a result.

Thanks so much, Shihan Weber, as well as Robert Cusumano and and everyone else who remained close to Al Santucci and helped him through what had to have been the worst years of his life.

Dear Sensei Weber,
I'm very sad to hear Al has passed away. The strength he showed through the tragic accident and death of Anita is a lesson for us all. He was a loving  husband to Anita and dedicated Sensei to his students who were his children. They were loved by all in Summit and Parsippany dojos. They were made for each other and were lucky enough to find each other. I never heard them say a bad word about anyone. They were special people as you know having been around them in the dojos. Both great examples of true martial artists. Please let me know if there will be a service for Al.

Thank you,
Bob Cusumano.

Sensei Weber and friends,
So sorry to hear the news. The Santuccis were such nice people, so happy and fun to be around. They deserved much more than the tragedy they suffered. They touched so many lives and won't soon be forgotten. The suffering now ended, may he rest in peace.

Jim S.
