Hello,

I want to say iSsh is a really nice application, I do have a problem
with the latest version (4.0.9).
I've tried to run xosview on a remote machine, displaying on the
iPhone. This gives the error "cannot load font 7x13bold". Running
something like xclock or xterm works.

When googling for this error, I see reports of people having not
installed certain font packages. Can it be some font is missing? I've
tried with the xosview parameter -font, with values Courier or
courier, as that seemed to be a font for the terminal mode, but it's
not doing anything and I can't find a list of what fonts iSsh ships
with for X.
The xosview application runs fine from my OSX 10.4.11 mac with the
default X11.

Cheers

I've figured out that with the option "-font fixed" xosview does run
in iSsh, so apparently "fixed" is a font that it can find/load.
Is there a list somewhere with the fonts that are available?

I'm sorry I didn't have the chance to reply sooner. Here's a dump of
the fonts.dir file which has an inventory of the fonts that are
installed--following that is the fonts.alias file which matches
"fixed" and other fonts to the fonts that iSSH ships with:

I consider that a quick reply, thanks.

I've tried, and with a little googling it now also works with for
example:
xosview -int -font -Misc-Fixed-Medium-R-SemiCondensed--13-120-75-75-
C-60-iso8859-1

It's a lot of typing, but the information you provided did allow me to
figure out how to run the application

Please note the capitalisation that was required to get it to work
(fiddling I all did in issh). You might want to consider adding a few
more aliasses to you fonts.alias file, especially something named
"7x13bold" even if there isn't such a font.

Well at least someone googling with the same problem should now be
able to find this solution.

Another thing you might want to change, because it took me a while
before I figured it out, are the two small white dots in the top row
where the meta keys are. It took me several days before I figured out
by accident that I can use those to scroll though available special
buttons Only then did I discover the arrow keys there for example. You
might want to think about changing them to small arrows like on a
scroll bar.

Otherwise a very nice application, thanks!
