I want to use xrdp on Linux which can convert VNC to RDP protocol
which is must faster surprisingly than just using VNC. I can connect
using mstsc on Windows to my xrdp setup but issh just shows the
progress bar and black screen for a minute or two and then eventually
crashes.

I've spent a good time trying to get xrdp compatible with my RDP
client, however it seems they're doing something nonstandard with the
protocol. Just to check, I actually discovered that not very many
other RDP clients are compatible with xrdp either. The OS X build of
the Microsoft RDP client has the same behavior as mine. I eventually
intend to get to the bottom of what's going on. For now I'm focusing
on improving support for actual Microsoft served RDP connections.

Thanks for the info. I was surprised to see that you had already
tried to get it working with it. I didn't expect you to know what it
was :). I understand that you would focus on what most people are
using though. I can hope that one day it might get figured out at
least.

I did find an ipad client that worked with xrdp but it assumed that
xrdp would adhere to a screen resolution change to the ipad resolution
so it only showed part of the desktop. Since it is a sort of
passthrough to VNC the screen resolution wouldn't get changed.
Something to think about if you do look into it again.

Thanks again for the response. This app is the most used of all my
ipad apps. I only wish someone would come out with a mouse that uses
the headphones jack to send data to the ipad like some gamepads and
credit card readers are using. I would pay some good money for such
an adapter or mouse. It really sucks that apple doesn't just
inplement proper USB and bluetooth input device support. I realize
they are probably doing it on purpose to make sure that the ipad
doesn't compete with the macbooks though.
