A heads up from Cascade about a couple of chances for your voice to be heard about biking and walking in Issaquah.

Dear Kent,

Cascade Bicycle Club has enjoyed following the progression of the Central Issaquah Plan over the past few months. The Plan has the potential for improved biking and walking connections in Issaquah and is currently going through the City’s Planning Policy Commission (PPC).

Your voice will be especially important at the upcoming April PPC meetings when the critical issues of transportation and land use will be discussed. We encourage you to attend the hearings, testify, and write letters to the Commission in support of increased pedestrian and bicycle connections.

Here is info on the upcoming April meetings:

Thursday, April 14, 6:30pm, City Council Chambers
Agenda items: Central Plan discussion on transportation, land use, and density

Thursday, April 21, 6:30pm, City Council Chambers (additional meeting)
Agenda items: Continued discussion on transportation, land use, and density

You are an important voice of your community. We hope you can make at least one of the above meetings and explain to the PPC why safe and convenient bicycle routes in Issaquah are important to you.

If you cannot attend a meeting, please take one minute to write the Planning Policy Commission in support of increased non-motorized transportation alternatives.

Thank you for your good work,

Max Hepp-Buchanan
