According to the local weather prognosticators, the rain a couple of days ago , was just a teaser!

  Have your hip waders handy, flashlights accessible and charged/fresh batteries, candles etc, as may be needed.

 Have you charged you favorite HT recently, or at least your Baofeng/clone? 

  Last weekend our power was out for over 24 hours.  My  large 'radio batteries' and a couple of 12 LED lights provided plenty of light, and a very small 12v powered inverter was plenty to power a fan in our gas fireplace,so we had lights and heat..almost all the comforts of home.    

  The EyeWarn repeater is 147.100 +  with a tone of 123.  

  The 444.525 (UHF) repeater is also likely to see some activity.  It might be a good idea to listen in , just to see what is going on in the evening.  If you have a radio programmed with the CERTS list, they are [probably memories #12 and #16, but don't quote me.

  If PW need help tomorrow night, I will be out and about town some place.

     The low apartments adjacent to ( immediately East of)  the fish hatchery flooded, during the flood several years ago ( pre-covid) .  Pictures from the Newport Way bridge, circulating already this evening, do not look like there is space for much extra water, and we are expected to get a lot more.   'Fishing on Front Street'  may be a 'thing', this week!

   Be prepared, be safe, and try to keep keep your feet dry.

A few additions to Rod’s email:

1. For a list of emergency frequencies, visit Issaquah CERT - Emergency Communications.  This list does not include EYEWARN, but you can listen in on 147.100 + 123.0 as the primary (EF&R 2m repeater) and 440.250 123.0 as a backup (EF&R 70cm repeater).
2. If I or Mihai programmed your HTs before this year, Rod’s channel 12 will get you the EF&R 2m repeater and channel 16 will get the Squak Mtn Fire Repeater.  The Cougar Mtn. Fire Repeater (more dependable) is channel 17.
3. If I or Mihai have programmed your HTs more recently (e.g., Timber Ridge), use channel 60 for EF&R 2m, channel 64 for Squak Mtn. Fire Repeater and channel 65 for Cougar Mtn. Fire Repeater.

Channels are:

147.100 - channel 60

444.525, tone 127.3 - channel 65

That’s only if your radio channels have been recently reprogrammed by Mihai or Bob to be in-sync with the local community around Issaquah.

I drove by those apartments you mentioned and I would be sandbagging right now if I lived there. Only about 10” of bank showing with more rain coming. Why wait?
