Sad news!
This week, a long time companion passed away. Although often considered a hot-air windbag, when they/them ( not sure about the new pronouns) decided it was time to retire from the earth, it was done in a rather spectacular fashion, buy committing suicide, via electrocution.

Yes, my very old friend, the Harbor Fright heat gun, literally burned up...sparks, smoke, flames, and melted plastic, etc.
It seems the heart (fan motor) failed first, quickly followed by all the rest in whatever quick succession it happened.
I took it into Harbor Fright today, to ask about the warranty

.
They guy behind the counter said "That must be several years old", and called the manager.
The manager said it must be at least ten years old and began to explain the warranty was probably only good for 1 year.
I thanked him, and asked if he wanted the old one for a museum piece, because I know it was over 20 years old.
We all had a good laugh, and I walked out with a new one for something less than $10, plus tax.
I would not be surprised if that old heat gun has shrunk over 100 feet of shrink tubing, with some as large as 3 inches in diameter ( pre-shrinking) .
Anybody need some 2-1/2"(un-shrunk)? I have many feet of it.
