I visited the Issaquah Senior Center this week.

First, we had our monthly meetings there on the first Wednesday of every month.

Since then, a karate school has been renting the whole facility: M-F + Saturday mornings.

Second, I was looking for an alternate location for our HAM classes.

This email is the reply from the person managing the Senior Center.

As is, Issaquah CERT is running some Covid Booster events in January at the Issaquah Community Center.

I signed up to work Jan 7, first shift, so I will find this place and recon there.

Subject: City of Issaquah Rental

Hi Joe,

After discussion with my manager, it would be best to ask the Community Center about the May rental. They have a room called “the view room,” that might fit your needs.

Cathy Jones is the manager at the community center and can answer questions about rentals at 425-837-3300.

Thanks,

Should I find and visit the Issaquah Community Center next week?

My term as VP has 2 more weeks.

It would be nice to line up a meeting room and/or class space.

I am not currently planning on resuming in person meetings given the way things are going right now.
I would love to at some point, but for now I feel more comfortable having meetings online.

I totally agree! My point is to 'sniff around' and take the pulse of situation. Karate school is a surprize as we were not notified about that, giving the fact the club had that room reserved for couple of years.
I feel like we will do online meetings for a while.

I will sniff Community Center today, but it is Saturday.  I might have to go back Monday.

IN the past, the club had insurance. It was considered necessary because the club was sponsering Field Day and inviting the general public to come and operate under supervision.

Since we are meeting in the internet we don't need it for that as much as we used to but we still need it for field day.
We got the insurance for about $200.00 and i think that we got it thru ARRL. We  might need to be an affiliated club to get it thru ARRL.

We might want to re-instate that insurance with ARRL.

I have not paid attention to being an ARRL-affiliated club.

That also might wait until January.

Insurance was discussed at the September 2020 meeting, and "Lara was to discuss insurance with Don" according to the minutes published in the Oct 2020 SquakBox.
