I changed an option in our Google Groups email reflector.

I want to make it easier to reply directly to an author instead of always to the entire group.

The setting is named “Who can reply privately to authors”:

  • It was set to “nobody”
  • I changed it to “group members”

Let’s try this for a while and see if it has the effect we want.

I haven’t tried this before and not entirely sure what to expect (hence this test message) so keep an eye on things and let me know if anything might be a problem.

If you read this far, then just for fun, see if you can reply directly to me instead of the group.

I guess we have to give it time. Try it tomorrow!

Right after I made the change, and sent a test message, it warns me that it can take hours for the new setting to take effect. Go figure!

PS – whatever happened to the fabled computers’ “blinding electronic speed”? lol
