Mentioned in the program last night  was the Griduino, designed and kitted by K7BWH and N7PHY.
The color display shows your current 6 character grid, your relative position in the  4 character grid, the current Latitude and Longitude,  distances to neighboring grid boundaries, an approximate altitude ( which can be calibrated to a known elevation), along with some other possibly helpful information.
Note: This photo shows the location dot on the very left (west) edge of CN97.  I am only about 1/2 mile from the CN87/CN97 boundary  and about half way to a boundary either north or south.

There’s more information about Griduino in the Griduino User’s Guide on GitHub.

The whole open-source project is at https://github.com/barry-ha/Griduino.

This is something I sell on my website, a place full of breathless superlatives : www.griduino.com

Cheers, Barry K7BWH

btw, excellent documentation, including the developer instructions.  Having suffered through little or no or incorrect documentation on many, many products, I appreciate the effort there.

Thanks Dave. My Griduino documentation is my over-reaction to the millions of GitHub projects that have none. For those, it’s really difficult to figure out what the heck the project is about. If we want others to join a project and contribute, then we should make it easy to do so. By the way, I’m still waiting for anyone to offer fixes or improvements, so maybe it doesn’t make that much of a difference, lol.

Cheers, Barry K7BWH

"The code documents itself."  as I heard from many lazy developers.
