Hi Lara,

 

SnoVARC is having two Psy professionals from the Seattle Red Cross giving a presentation at our June club meeting's Elmer Session on Psychological First Aid.  Kathy and I have taken it a few times and it is great. I just felt with all that is going on in the world and how some of us may be involved in a disastrous event someday that all the physical and mental prep we can obtain is always a plus.

 

Here is an overview of the class:

 

PSYCHOLOGICAL FIRST AID

This is a one-hour to a one-and-one-half hour training focused on skills that have been found to be most helpful when interacting with people in distress. These skills are useful whether the distress is caused by a large crisis that affects many people, or an event that might occur in a household or on a work team. These skills are learnable and powerful but, as is true in acquiring any new skill, require practice.

 

I would like to invite your members to partake in this class. 

 

It will be held in-person at the Duvall Fire Station and on zoom for those that cannot attend.  Our meeting is on June 7th.  The business part starts at 6:15 and the elmer session at 7pm. We are going to be limited on the number of in-person attendees we have so I need to know who would like to attend very soon.  Right now the in-person number is at 11. .Those that are joining by zoom may have a limit also.

 

Please get the word out to your group.  I need to hear from them through email.
