Dear Landecker Digital Memory Lab colleague,
Happy New Year!
We start 2026 by sharing news from the Landecker Digital Memory Lab, including upcoming opportunities which you can be involved in.
Launch of the Digital Memory Database
Our flagship resource, the Digital Memory Database launches on 27 January. This major resource is a collection of international digital Holocaust memory practice, designed to enable its users to learn from past projects, help shape future strategies, spark ideas and avoid duplication.
Register for early access to the Digital Memory Database.
It contains a wealth of multimedia content such as video walkthroughs of digital Holocaust memory projects including those that use Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, gaming technology and apps, since the 1990s, as well as interviews with those involved in
their creation, data visualisation tools and spaces to curate tailored content.
Join us for the official launch event, online, on Wednesday 4 February 17:00 to 18:15 GMT (18:00-19:15 CET; 12:00-13:15 EST). The event is free to attend, but registration is required.

Dialogues II and Live Online Event
The second series in our Digital Memory Dialogues has now launched. This dialogue focuses on
finding a 'North Star' for using AI in Holocaust memory and has been guest edited by Dr Mykola
Makhortykh and Maryna Sydorova (University of Bern) with contributors from colleagues at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, the AI and Cultural Heritage Lab, UCLA, Yad Vashem, and University of Zurich.
Read the provocation for Dialogues II and look out for responses published each Wednesday over the next four weeks. The series culminates in an online live event to which we invite you to attend on 12 February 16:00-18:00 GMT (17:00-19:00 CET/ 11:00-13:00
EST) – we encourage your engagement in the discussion!
