Yahasra.org היא פלטפורמה דיגיטלית חדשנית לתיעוד רשומות קבורה של בתי
העלמין במרוקו. עד כה תועדו כ- 30,000 קברים ב- 34 בתי עלמין. הפרויקט משלב שיתוף מידע על קברים במרוקו יחד עם חקר שמות משפחה, ומציע כלים ייחודיים כמו
AI לקריאת טקסט על קברים, אלגוריתם ליצירת וריאציות שונות של
שמות משפחה או ניתוחים סטטיסטים לזיהוי פיזור השמות היהודיים לפי אזורים. במהלך ההרצאה נציג את האתגרים הייחודיים בתיעוד קברים, את הפתרונות הטכנולוגיים שפותחו ואת הקשר בין שימור מורשת דיגיטלית לתיירות שורשים. הפלטפורמה, שכבר עלתה לאוויר, כאתר וכיישומון, בחמש שפות,
תשרת יוצאי מרוקו ברחבי העולם.

A Digital Format for Documentation and Research of Jewish Cemeteries in Morocco
Presented in Hebrew by Dr. Yohanan Ouaknine
Yahasra.org is a digital platform for documenting and researching Jewish burial records in Morocco. The project has documented about 30,000 graves across 34 cemeteries and combines cemetery data with Jewish surname research. It employs advanced tools such as
AI-based inscription reading, surname-variation algorithms, and statistical analysis of name distribution. The lecture will discuss the challenges of documentation, the technological solutions developed, and the link between digital heritage preservation and
roots tourism. The platform, already launched, is a multilingual website and mobile app, is intended to serve Jews of Moroccan origin worldwide.
Dr. Yohanan Ouaknine, founder and developer of the Yahasra project and lecturer at Ariel University and Ashkelon Academic College, and until January 2025 served as Head of a Research Unit in the Israel Prison Service.
