| Hello Early Music lovers
Falvetti's NABUCCO at Kan Kol HaMusica! On this coming Thursday (October 30) at 7 PM, Uri Golomb will be broadcasting on his program at Kan Kol haMusica, the full oratorio Nabucco by Michelangelo Falvetti (1683) performed by Ensemble PHOENIX.
Uri will address interesting features of this extraordinary oratorio, its plot, the political circumstances of its making.
Ours is the first COMPLETE recording of the work available on streaming. Differently from other recordings available, our rendition has not omitted any material from Falvetti, nor added any material composed by others to it. We believe Falvetti, a great representative of Sicilian Baroque, does not need any "contributions" or "corrections" - so we followed faithfully the manuscript.
Paraphrasing Goethe who said that "to have seen Italy without having seen Sicily is not to have seen Italy at all”, one could say that without hearing Sicilian music, it is impossible to have a good grasp of Italian music.

Earlier this year we have launched CONVIVENCIA, a project more relevant than ever. It was recorded LIVE in Israel during our concerts, and it is now also in every streaming platform:
CONVIVENCIA: Moors, Christians and Jews in Iberia Convivencia (living together) is a musical fantasy upon the encounter of the three religions in Hispania/Sefarad/Al Andaluz. It was created by musicians of three faiths living in Israel. It is a message of hope, that is possible to live together, in spite of how different we may be. It contains unpublished songs of the Portuguese Crypto-Jews, recorded in field in Belmonte, Portugal, from the old people of this community. At the end of the album you will hear them, recorded by Simha Aron, as bonus tracks. Click on the photo to listen to Ensemble PHOENIX's performance of this fascinating project!
Enjoy!
