Abstract
In this presentation i will try to focus on the concepts of Absolute and Being in Hegel and Levinas. This will be an attempt of understanding and interpretation at the same time. This interpretation will focus on the issue of what the Absolute and Being are in both philosophers and how their relationship is established. This relationship will be interpreted as a relation of mediation in Hegel and as a relation of separation in Levinas. Furthermore, such an essay on two philosophers whose philosophical grounds are largely different from each other will attempt to interpret and compare these philosophers departing from a common ground, which would only be possible by proposing a new concept. At this point, the concept I will propose will be the concept of duality; I will try to interpret the relationship between the Absolute and Being in both philosophers based on this basic concept. Nevertheless, the concept of duality will not be confined to this context alone and will serve as a key to interpreting and rethinking many philosophical issues at the same time.
