Mechanistic explanation and scientific progress in neuroscience and beyond – with prof. dr. Carl Craver



Date and time: 25 August 2025, 9:30-16:00h

Location: University of Amsterdam, Humanities Labs workshop space (Bushuis/Oost-Indisch Huis)



This workshop invites philosophers of science, neuroscientists, biologists, psychologists and social scientists to exchange ideas across disciplines on the interaction between mechanistic explanation and scientific progress.



The workshop will include 30-minute presentations by invited speakers as well as multiple plenary discussion sessions, to allow for integration and application of the ideas presented in the talks.
