Conceptual Spaces at Work 2024

17-18 June 2024
HHU, Düsseldorf, Germany

This workshop explores the applications of the Conceptual Spaces framework, which considers conceptual content to be structured geometrically. We will engage with this influential approach through a series of invited speaker sessions being held over two days. The workshop aims to provide a representative picture of the state of the art in this cutting-edge branch of philosophy and cognitive science. The speakers are international experts from various fields — including philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, and computer science — where the approach has gained popularity.

Speakers:

Peter Brössel (Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany)
Leyla Roksan Caglar (Carnegie Mellon University, USA)
Jean-Louis Dessalles (Télécom Paris, France)
Igor Douven (IHPST, Pantheon-Sorbonne University, France)
Peter Gärdenfors (Lund University, Sweden)
Eline Kuipers (Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany)
Matías Osta-Vélez (Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf)

Venue: Schloss Mickeln, Düsseldorf, Germany (Alt-Himmelgeist 25, 40589 Düsseldorf)
