We are pleased to share with you the call for a PhD position in the field of Science and Technology Studies at the University of Padova (Italy) under the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action COFUND.
The PaSTIS research Unit will host the PhD candidate for three years. PaSTIS is the major STS center in Italy with about 20 staff members, including several PhD students, offering a vibrant and exiting environment for outstanding PhD candidates keen to undertake an academic international career in STS.
The PhD position is linked to a research topic titled: Science, technology and innovation in the societies of the future. The PhD candidate is expected to propose a project related to the analysis of one or more emerging technoscientific innovations, with the aim of disentangling the relationship between scientific, technical, social and cultural elements, including a view about consequences, expectations and future scenarios generated by these innovations. The research should be theoretically grounded in the field of Science and Technology Studies (STS) with no restriction about social science-based methods and research techniques: any STS approach is welcome.
The PhD candidate will be enrolled in the PhD programme in Social Sciences https://socialsciences.fisppa.unipd.it/, which includes the first year of dedicated training in social sciences and STS.

The selected PhD candidate will benefit from very attractive employment conditions and will be recruited through a 3-year contract starting 1 October 2023. The *3-year position* is *full-time*. The annual UNIPhD fellow salary, which is paid monthly, amounts to €34.920 (gross amount) for researchers with family responsibilities or to €32.520 (gross amount) for researchers with no family responsibilities. Moreover, the PhD candidate will benefit of a research budget up to 43.200 euros covering research costs for the three years.
